The introduction is on 15.04.2025 at 13:15 in HS66 R087 (EG). Attendance on the first date is mandatory for participation in the practical course.
Registration is available in StudIP under the above link and is possible from 04.04.2025, 10:00.
In this course, we leverage a DJI Tello drone equipped with a downward-facing camera to autonomously track and land on a designated landing pad through real-time computer vision techniques. The primary objective is to compare the performance of executing the same tracking algorithm on two different platforms: a standard desktop PC and an embedded system, specifically the Radxa Zero.
Additionally, we will investigate the effects of memory limitations on both systems, examining how different levels of available memory impact the performance of the drone tracking algorithm. This involves deliberately constraining memory usage on the Radxa Zero to simulate low-memory conditions typical in embedded systems and observing how the performance is affected.
